Hard anodising is an excellent way to increase the wear resistance of a piece. Hard anodising forms a hard and very dense anodising layer on the aluminium surface. The surface is highly abrasion resistant and its friction can be further reduced by using ptfe sealing.
Hard anodising is a wear-resistant option
Hard anodising should be considered as an alternative to normal anodising for applications where there is a problem with wear. Depending slightly on the grade of aluminium and the thickness of the layer, the resulting surface is dark, very hard and guaranteed wear-resistant.
